On June 19, 2014, Hillary Clinton accepted an exclusive interview with Business Weekly of Taiwan. In the interview, she was asked a few questions about Taiwan's policy of opening up to China. Please refer to the video clip: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yuzev07aWQM&feature=youtu.be).
I totally disapprove what Hillary Clinton had said in this interview. What China really wants from Taiwan is precisely what Clinton said in this interview, the "unintended consequences!" China doesn't really care about Taiwan's market at all, but they do really have ambitions about the land, the resources, and the strategic location that this Island provides. Clinton doesn't know all of these? As smart as she is, of course, she knows these "carefully" and "thoughtfully." When did Taiwan become vulnerable? Years ago, when you, the U. S. Department of State, first to officially call us, Taiwan, as "Taiwan, Province of China," we has become vulnerable; our political independence had been undermined by you, and we has gradually been treated as a vassal state of China in the international community.
How far can we keep from China? It is not entirely up to us, my dear! Don't forget, Ma Ying-Jeou's policy of shelving Taiwan's Sovereignty is encouraged by you, my dear friend! Without international awareness and support, opening up to China for us is a one-way street; we can only take what was given to us by the Chinese, we can't even bargain, no matter how smart, how careful, and how thoughtful we are, my dear Ms Hillary Clinton!
